Hey Pete, so what I see by watching the shadow is that the descent is never stopped using the wing. If the trike is flared the shadow would stop getting larger for a few seconds (or for as long as you flare) and THEN the mains would touch. So it looks like the flare is absent. If the bar is simulating the flare (pushed all the way forward) your approach speed is too slow. Because I can’t see the control bar I can’t comment further. But I do see the nose wheel coming down immediately as you complained of.
Thanks. I will work on increasing my approach speed. I am off the throttle when turning base so I may be turning too far out on downwind. I will shorten it up so that I have more altitude on final. First time having a shadow to look at and I noticed the same thing about the nonexistent flare. Feels like I am flaring but not from what the shadow shows. Any idea what my speed should be approx. at the initiation of the flare power off?
Thanks
You should put the nose down at 300 AGL. Forget about the rest. Every time you get to 300 AGL you should be going into your steep approach.
You can and should also practice adding power in the flare and hold the nose wheel off. This is the exact same configuration as yours. https://youtu.be/mdv2n0HiNMo
Nice Job!
Thanks. Does it appear that the nose wheel is coming down too fast. I have nothing to compare it to. I have a 12 meter wing so it doesn’t float much.

Thanks Larry. I will work on it.
Pete
I keep reviewing these landings and, with the shadow, it is so obvious the lack of flare. It really helps to have videos to critique after the fact.
