• Airborne gas tank drain valve?

Posted by Roger Larson on June 17, 2024 at 12:09 am

Does anyone know the pitch and size of the drain valve on the bottom of an Airborne tank? and or where can we get this valve?

We pulled one out of the bottom of the tank due to it leaking in the tank and are currently looking for either the rubber O Rings to renew it or a whole new drain valve?

Also this makes me want to get a new curtis drain for my Revolt? Larry do you have either of these valves? for the airborne or the Re volt?

    Hi Roger,

You might be looking for this? https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/curtisquickdv7.php?clickkey=5632736

If not, check with Adam Maher over at Airborne (spares@airborne.com.au), they are stocking parts again and may have what you are looking for in stock.

Hey Roger, those don’t typically leak because they get old. They typically leak because people don’t use the proper part they go into which is CCA2474. Without this they will leak unless it’s a really old reservoir, then they can screwed in directly. This is a very common problem and no one seems to know about it.

Aircrafts price sells this part and the quick drain as well.

Thanks for everyones reply. We were able to fix the button type drain valve on his airborne by removing it and putting in a new 35 Cent oring which he got at Aircraft spruce. We have one now in Chandler Arizona. I do want to either get a spare for my Revolt or Oring if that model uses an oring. Simple little thing like that causes big problems. Leaing fuel is just not a good thing. Once again thanks for the replys
