Crash on Lake
A crash on a lake about 8 miles away from my place here in MN. A new pilot with no training as far as I can tell. Tried landing with his new amphibious trike and balled it up. My buddy on the lake tells me he had been trying To takeoff the water with no success earlier in the week. I looked it over in the water as best I could. Northwing Maverick 3 wing. No numbers I could see. Pilot airlifted to hospital Wing looks salvageable. Carriage is bent and broken Please folks, get training first

Possibly… Getting out of a trike upside down underwater can be difficult and sometimes the control bar can pin the pilot in. So if you don’t drown there could be some impact absorption depending on just how hard you hit
