I ‘m looking for another trike wing. I’m an XL pilot flying a heavy single seat trike. Most of the time my all up is 650-750#’s, I fly a Pacer 13, a Contour 14.5 and a Manta 103 12 meter. I have 447 and 503 trikes to go with the wings. I like the 503 for power but it’s too thirsty for an 80-100 mile xc leg on 5 gal.. So I have been leaning more on the 447’s that seem to have a safe margin on hp flying the 2-place Contour wing and even acceptable power for the 12 meter Manta wing. The climb out on the Manta with a DA of 5500’ is 400fpm. Has anyone flown Northwings Mission 12 meter wing with 40hp and been happy?? How about the Rev X 12 meter wing on 40 hp? I like the 750 rating but does it need 65 hp to be worthy?

We fly the 12m on the 38 HP REVs. The climb at sea level is around 450 FPM. The 447 has more torque and a larger diameter prop, so your thrust is probably higher. In any case the trim is 37-40 MPH and does not like a nose pod at all. Also that wing does not work nearly as well on the ultralight as the one designed for the ultralight with smaller leading edges and the 600lb gross. But in either case they are Not X country wings.

thanks for the reply Larry. surprized the Manta has performance advantage. my 12 is trimmed for 50 so it almost keeps up.
