On Saturday I flew from Cartersville to Calhoun that’s about 20nm and returned total 40miles, then Sunday (today) I flew from Cartersville to Rome that’s about 22nm and returned. That’s in Georgia. There are not many airports in this area. I spent the winter near Orlando,FL where the airports are everywhere from 3 miles to 10 miles between them. Note I’m flying Rev 103UL. How far do you fly?

That’s great Peter. Did you have to refuel at Calhoun or Rome? GE05 (our field) is only one more hop past Rome!

I didn’t have too, but I did top it up. I used less than 2gallons for each trip. Averaged about 50mins. I estimate I could fly for 2hours safely and 10 – 15mins more if I needed too. Gibson is 18nm from Rome. So in theory I could fly without stopping at Rome to reach GE05

Last flight I flew 70 nm(80 mi) on a triangle with around 30 minutes of meandering a river on 5.5 gal. cruising 55 mph. 118 minutes flight time and still had 2 gal. useable in the tank (7.5 usable fuel tank) good for a 447 Pacer. DA was 5k so my rpm was a couple of hundred above normal. I love my 503 trike but it’s thirsty and only has a 5 gal. usuable fuel tank so I limit my hops to 60 miles with it on XC flights. I’m building a new chariot for the 503 with more storage and fuel for XC it’s done I just need to dissasimble it for painting and install the engine.

I’m building up to do a triangle between the airports I visited this weekend. I still have another airport that is about the same distance that I want to visit first. then when the wind is blowing the right way I’ll do the triangle flight.
