I never asked, I just fly into any airport. If you ask they can say no. Yes private airports are different but any public airport, best to fly in. Long ago a public air port said I could not fly in. I contacted the FAA and they said it was OK. As soon as the airport know the FAA was involved it all of a sudden was OK. As long as you have a radio and wheels so you can taxi to takeoff you should be good. Yes, overall the PPC and private airports are different.

Tire chocks will not keep it from going side to side so side to side as well as front to back is very important. see my setup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yECqo_CAFr0&t=214s

After decades of flying in the winter/cold the best solution is heated gear starting with gloves. Typically your trike will have a 12 volt source. Below you will see some discussion on this.

Direct to the battery is a good start. Monitor your battery voltage which is your key to make sure you are good. You can always add controllers as you go. I had to add a controller to my boots because my feet got too hot with super insulated boots.

Heated gear makes everything so much better. Typically your trike has the amp capacity to really keep you warm. This video is old but the principles are still valid. https://youtu.be/gAsWjOmsb6g

This is the best place to find trike pilots, instructors and DPE’s. I would vote to have the information available that the person puts on the profile they enter. This way it is up to the individual who puts the info up if they want their contact information public. Perhaps the entry should be more open not just type of trike…. My thoughts. I get questions all the time and send them here.

Typically The MGL panel iEFIS with integrated MGL radio, sandia transponder and uAvionix UAT ADSB. All two place are “light sport aircraft” so you are thinking S-LSA (certified) or E-LSA just like airplanes (standard category or experimental). I fly all winter down to 0 degrees F temperatures with 12 volt Gerbings motorcycle boots, gloves and jacket. Nothing similar to the Revolt but I like the Revo. Yes you can take a 16 hour course for WSC to do your own inspections and maintenance on a E-LSA.

I have found that keeping the wing as flat as possible outside for unknown strong winds. Dropping the bar ground is one way to achieve this. With wing up, I tie each corner of the control bar down to the instructor ground steering pegs on my Revo. No nose up, no tail up, flat.

NO specifics but good enough for now. Moving ahead at finalizing this project which will be a great help for Trike ground school.

Roger, the rotax engine is designed for auto gas and lasts longer, less oil changes and the list goes on. 100ll is good for long term storage and vapor lock for bad fuel/system designs.

You asked and I told you what I thought. Real live has many forms. There are so many types of mid airs. Something (drone, big bird, airplane) hits the wing and twists it off. Something hits and breaks the leading edge outside the crossbar and loose control, bird comes through the windshield and blinds you. Endless possibilities. I may or may not be physically capable of pulling the handle, but if I am, I will. If you want me to justify not using a chute I can do that also considering cost, weight and maintenance……

This should explain it in more detail https://sportpilottraining.sportaviationcenter.com/add-category-pilot-certificate/

Yes you can add a WSC to glider FAA certificate just like many add WSC with an Airplane FAA pilot certificate. Two CFI’s

I use the Flycom system with the com same as typical airplane but the GA Flycom helmets. From my experience this is best overall.
