Hey Larry thanks for the reply. I have new axles on my trike. Less than a year old. I also purchased a new set from Ken already. I plan on changing to those when I change out the tires. I did go on aircraft spruce and i found a pair of 6 ply that are the same size that I need but at 165.00 per. The tires are wearing evenly across the treads on both sides its just that the right hand tire is wearing quicker than the left. Can it be due to P Factor that there is more down force on the right side of the aircraft on take off roll? Prop rotates to the left and engine torques to the right??? Just a thought.

    Hey Ken!!!

HAHAHAHAH. While I was reading it, I was thinking that you and I both had to go P and as I read further, that’s exactly what you said. So funny and so much fun. I love you brother. Oops I’m sorry I forgot I just called to say I love you ha ha ha

Larry that statement about only a rotor having the ability to flip over the trike is actually good to know from a standpoint of confidence. I’ve gotten puckered up pretty good in some turbulence that piece of information will be helpful in staying calm.

I watched your video Steve, and yes the air was definitely rough. One thing that Larry critiqued me on was had position on the control bar. If you widen out your hands on the bar and relax your arms, the weight of your arms pulling down on the bar will dampen some of the turbulence. Then you let the bar dance around a bit and make input corrections when necessary. I too have been in some rough stuff and it is scary, but once you realize that your aircraft can handle much more than you can that anxiety will lessen. The more time you put in the air and experience rougher air the less nervous it will make you. God Bless and fly safe!

Hey Jeff. I too am the only Airborne Trike Pilot or Trike pilot at all at the airport I am at now as well as the one I came from. I got a chuckle out of the reaction you got from the three gents that greeted you. I too got the “so your the one that fly’s that kite…” And in the back of my mind I am like, I’d like to so you try and fly my Kite… HA! Be safe

Hi Stephanie, I cant offer any mechanical advise, but I would say Do not fly anymore until you can find someone to help you pinpoint the problem and correct it. I cant imagine how frustrated you must be, but its not worth your safety. God Bless and best of luck!

Truly sorry to hear this! Words rarely make anyone feel better at a time of loss like this. I will say a prayer for the family as well as you both.

Thanks Roger. I reversed my tires on the wheels to even out the ware. I noticed that they are ply but I also notice that the tread profile also was different between the tires. I bought them as a set. I also switched out the axles and added nitrogen to my rear shocks. I will see how it goes

Two really good videos! I have seen them both several times before, but never one after the other like from this post. I think for the trike community, if you were able to combined them both together and incorporate Paul’s training clip on spiral dives all in one video would be a great resource for all of us. Thanks for sharing.
